Instructional Strategies
As a result of attending this workshop, faculty attendees will be able to:
- Establish clear student learning outcomes.
- Identify and apply a wide variety of instructional strategies, e.g. Active Learning, Direct vs. Indirect instruction.
- Facilitate student learning by aligning instructional methods with established learning outcomes.
- Determine the value of currently used strategies.
- Relate the levels of learning in Bloom's Cognitive Taxonomy to methods of instruction.
- Develop a "learner-centered" instructional philosophy.
- Move student learning from lower level thinking skills to higher level thinking skills according to Bloom's Cognitive Taxonomy.
