Learning and Teaching Styles and Personality Type in the Classroom

As a result of attending this workshop, faculty attendees will be able to:

  • Explain the various learning styles and available learning style inventories.
  • Identify the classroom preferences associated with each learning style.
  • Describe the Multiple Intelligences model and discuss ramifications for student learning.
  • Describe the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the associated 8 personality characteristics.
  • Identify instructional preferences associated with particular personality characteristics.
  • Identify potential academic pitfalls associated with various learning styles and personality characteristics.
  • Explain how mindfulness of personality and learning style diversity can improve classroom instruction and to apply this information to example classroom situations.
