Managing the Learning Environment
As a result of attending this workshop, faculty attendees will be able to:
- Determine how room arrangement and teacher placement impacts attentiveness.
- Compare models for managing the classroom environment and student behavior.
- Choose among several strategies to increase student participation in classroom discussions.
- Encourage students to become more responsible for their behaviors and choices.
- Use the syllabus to create clear and reasonable instructor expectations to guide student behavior.
- Demonstrate an understanding of motivation and motivational strategies.
- Identify and explain the components of effective classroom and instructional management.
